This question was asked of the apostle Paul by the Philippian jailer in Acts 16:30. This question has been asked by the multitude of men and women throughout time.

Many people have come up with many different answers to this question, but there is only one answer that all men must come to know, understand and obey. This answer is found only in the New Testament of Jesus Christ. Let us notice the following points of God’s plan of salvation in Jesus Christ.

“What Must I Do To Be Saved?”

Hear & Believe

Man Must Hear Of Christ And His Gospel. God the Father once proclaimed this about His Only Begotten Son. “This is My Beloved Son in whom I am well pleased; Hear ye Him” Matthew 17:5. It is recorded in the Book of Acts “Him (Jesus) shall ye her in all things whatsoever He shall say unto you” Acts 3:22. John penned this Truth about God giving of His Son to save the world. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” John 3:16. “Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” Romans 10:17.

Repent

Man Must Repent Of His Sins. Jesus gave command “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish” Luke 13:3. Paul preached to those at Athens, “And the times of this ignorance God winked at (overlooked); but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent” Acts 17:30. Repentance is a turning, a changing from sin to one of Godly righteousness!

Confess

Man Must Confess With Their Mouth Their Faith In Jesus Christ. Jesus taught; “Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven” Matthew 10:32. Philip the evangelist preached of the Christ to the Ethiopian eunuch. After hearing of the Christ proclaimed, the eunuch made this good confession. “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God” Acts 8:37.

Be Baptized

Man Must Be Baptized Into Christ For The Remission Of Their Sins. Jesus said: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” Mark 16:16. Peter on Pentecost preached the gospel call. “Repent and be baptized every one of you for the remission of sins…Acts 2:38. Bible baptism into Christ for the remission of sin, is a burial or immersion in water. Acts 8: 36-38, Colossians 2:12, Romans 6:3-4. One puts on Christ when one is buried in Christ for the remission of their sins. Galatians 3:27.

Faithful Unto Death

Man Must Then Remain Faithful Unto Their Physical Death. Jesus told the church at Smyrna; “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee the crown of life” Revelation 2:10. Faithfulness to God and His Son Jesus Christ. Faithful to the doctrine of Christ and to His blood bought church!

Peter penned this truth. “For God is not willing for any man to perish, but all come to repentance” II Peter 3:9. This wondrous plan of salvation is affordable to all men and women.
